Welcome back!
This week Zach and I worked on learning the months of the year, in French.
To do this, I referred back to my research, and knowing Zach, he loves learning through song.
This week, we looked at this song : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUqVhf9oUqQ
Before we started learning, I tested to see what Zach new. He was able to get 4 out of 12, which is not bad.
Below is a video of how he did after practicing with the song! I had said them, and also had him repeat them back to me! After about 4 days, he got all of them! That means he has earned his first badge!
He has also been using duolingo (the language learning app), and has been working on it 20 minutes a day! I am already seeing progress in his ability to say things in French, so I know it will only get better as we continue on this journey!
For next week, Zach and I will be working on days of the week. So, I have been researching the best way to do that! Here is what I've found!
This resource (https://www.fluentu.com/blog/french/french-days-of-the-week/) has listed 3 easy tricks as Zach and I continue to learn more in French. In order to help Zach earn his next badge we can try; songs, applying the days of the week to something relevant (ie. creating a weekly schedule in French), and finding connections between the French word, and words Zach already knows! I will keep you updated on how he does with days of the week on my next blog post! So stay tuned!
Until next time,
Sydney
